The global financial crisis drew attention to the costs of bank failure - taxpayer-funded bailouts of large financial institutions were an unpopular but common solution. How have different countries adapted tools for bank recovery and resolution to avoid bailouts in the future? I look at the experience of Eurozone nations, the US and the UK to determine how or if national approaches converged or diverged as the crisis unfolded.
